Journalist, writer and broadcaster

He is the journalist, writer and broadcaster. He is also a lecturer in broadcast and multimedia skills, strategies and international consultant to the broadcast and online industries with several major clients. He is also a writer and editor on digital photography.

He was editor in chief of BBC News Interactive Public Company from 1995 to 2004, and with a small project team he was the editorial leader before, during and after the 1997 launch of BBC News Online. The department later became BBC News Interactive - responsible for all of the BBC News new media activities, including interactive TV. Mike was editor-in-chief until 2004.

Correspondent, principally for BBC TV, in UK and worldwide. He was involved in the coverage of most major news stories during the period at home and abroad. Also he presented the BBC's then major news output, including the Six O'Clock and Nine O'Clock news, and Breakfast.
